What is Lactobacillus plantarum?
Lactobacillus plantarum is a gram-positive, nonmotile, non-spore-forming lactic acid bacterium; used as a soil amendment it may help plants grow and is isolated from silage pickled vegetables, sauerkraut, and sourdough. Lactobacillus is also found in cow dung, dairy products as well as other related environments. This probiotic may help to stabilize and promote positive intestinal health within livestock when added as a supplement to a feed source.
