What is Bacillus amyloliquefaciens?

Bacillus amyloliquefaciens is a biofungicide and bactericide to control garden-based plant diseases; it is a species of bacterium belonging to the Bacillus genus. Bacillus amylolquefaciens is considered a biocontrol bacterium that is known for its proficiency in root colonization. Specifically, this bacterium fights against plant root pathogens in a variety of settings including, aquaculture, agriculture, and hydroponics. One of the ways that the bacterium fights against pathogens is by out-competing the pathogen in question and has shown effectiveness against a variety of root pathogens that harm crop output in the agricultural and hydroponic communities.
